Another point, when ppl think Shape shifters, they said: D2LOD DRUID!!!!! WEREWOLF VS VAMPIRE PWNZ!!!11!1!11. Druids are dead in GW.
Which its totally wrong what I think. Like Sectus said about shape shift like the monster's target and get its skills at your lvl. But NOT every monsters. Forget about killing Kuunavang vs Kunavanvang or Glint vs Glint. Its not hard to change in game too. Weapon spells change the form.
Well, thats enough from here, it looks like if I continue like this, the thread will be started to be flamed one each other later. Its just my point I got in many forums about GW on 2 "Wish to See" professions that the Guild Wars Fans want to see in the next chapters.
That will be enough now, lets talk something else before it starts to flame.
Arabian theme... I found on what we will mounted: a magic carpet

With the African theme, I think something more like a native with skilled hand/foot attacks would be interesting. Could use throwing moves etc (as long as it didn't look too WWF). If anything, add clubs a pole or a knife.

I can see spearmen working into the mix really well. Give them a stance that will not let foes get adjacent to them, but the spearman only deals half damage from attacks. It would let you ring around the casters, completely block narrow lanes, etc. and momentarily nullify melee foes. Granted, I'd make sure spearmen only had AR 60, and put all the closeness control skills under their professions specialty ability.

( also just strange rumours ) I saw on another forum ( not from this site )that the the beginning area will be filled with low level green-bosses/ and that there are only 4 missions but each takes 90 minutes.
Why have i posted this?! I dont even believe it!

Dune FTW!
If we were to had a shape shifter, I would like to have a different kind of the one often hinted. A jack of all trades that were actually better than the other professions in doing some things, with less options to compensate for the higher raw power. Since it has been said that the new caster Profession is a girl with a veil, I would call them:
The Face Dancers (AKA The Revenge of the Ritualists)
Primary Attribute: Body Mask (for each point in this attribute, your shapeshift skills last 4% longer)
Skills:
Iron Golem (Metal Shapeshift Skill): For x...y seconds, you lose two arrows of energy regeneration, attack 33% slower, move 25% slower, gain 25 armor and all damage received is reduced by 5.
Steel Golem (Metal Shapeshift Skill): For x...y seconds, you lose two arrows of energy regeneration and 25 maximum energy, you attack 33% faster, you gain Adrenaline twice as fast, and your attacking skills recharge 25% faster.
Lightning Golem (Light Shapeshift Skill): For x...y seconds, you lose 20 armor, you attack 50% slower, you gain two arrows of energy regeneration and all of your elemental damage skills have 25% armor penetration.
Shimmering Golem (Light Shapeshift Skill): For x...y seconds, you lose 20 armor, you cannot attack or use skills on enemies, and each time you use a skill on an ally, that ally is healed for a...b health.
Steel Fingers (Skill, only useable while on Metal Shapeshift form): strike enemies with sharp, steel fingers, dealing +a...b damage and inflicing Bleeding with your next x...y attacks.
Star Shower (Skill, only useable while on Light Shapeshift form): heal target ally and adjacent allies with a...b health for the next x...y seconds.
And so on...The idea is to make it possible to be a healer as good as or better than a Monk, if you sacrifice your entire skill bar to it, and to be a tank as good as or better than a Warrior, if you sacrifice your entire skill bar for it, with the possibility of following a middle term and being versatile.
The central new mechanic would be the skills that require other skills to be in effect to work - a mix between the Assassin combo system and the Ranger's stances, if you wish. Plus the fact you have something better, this time, than the other Professions, with more raw power, but balanced by the fact you would have less options. So you would, for example, be able to make a character that direct heals more than a Monk, but that doesn't have all that Protection skills or Infuse Health, and therefore would be bad in a spike, and things like that.

so far we have a warrior, elementalist, necromancer, monk, mesmer, ritualist and assassin. when nightfall comes and say one of the new classes will be a shapeshifter plus the other one.......... from there i can't think of anymore classes to put in chapter4!! urghh *tries to think*
some professions from other online games:
WoW has a DRUID(shapeshifter), maybe they could add that. A profession that can transform into a hydra?! zomg that would pawn The druid could have an attribute dedicated to *mother nature* like a skill that summon roots from the ground to entangle enemies or a a "Tree of Life" that heals adjacent allies. He can also grow a "Tree of Knowledge" ^_^ increases attributes of allies near it by 2.
Ragnarok Online has an ALCHEMIST that specializes in chemistry to make healing potions which they *throw* at allies and acidic potions that burns enemies or mutates a hideous immobile carnivorous plant from the soil. They can also strengthen the type of weapon you have giving it either fire, cold or lightning magic properties.
I still like the idea of a shapeshifter turning into a hydra lol. uber that is @_@!!

I found the Undead were rather interesting in Prophecies, storyline-wise. I hope that the Undead make another visit in Chapter 3. I love the idea of Vampires in GW (as an enemy or a race) ... I believe african mythology refers to them as Obayifo.
anyway as far as classes.... I honestly don't know what to expect. All I know is that if Factions is any indication of how A-net does things, we'll get a caster and a melee profession (I think on game site mentioned that one of the professions was wielding a spear-like weapon) - so a spear wielding class is probably on the horizon. I would also bet that the caster class is some sort of "Nature mage" or druid of some kind.
One of my concerns though is that the Assassin and Ritualist have barely been given a chance to be fleshed out, improved, tweaked or whatever, and they're already adding new professions? I don't know how it will work out, but I'm sure A-net will pull it off somehow. I just hope we aren't stuck with a bunch of half-baked professions.
One of the things I things I would like to see in Chapter 3 is some sort of tradeskill system. I think it would be cool if players could choose certain tradeskills, and craft desirable or semi-desirable items. Blacksmiths could forge certain unique swords or something, and such.
I think a tradeskill system would benefit GW in two ways: First, it would add an entirely new facet to the GW economy, almost entirely in the hands of the players themselves. Secondly, it would give players something to do besides kill things (which, while rewarding, does get somewhat tiring after a while)
anyway, rant over.

From Wikipedia: A woman with a double bladed spear (Those who played Dynasty Warriors series, think the weapon of Wei Yan) and a bald look-like monk with no weapon, perhaps a knuckle fighter.
Thx The Swift for that. This is the only info we got from Anet for now.

Im not sure, is that one of them rods, with equally large blades on each side, and used with a lot of spinning moves? Like FFIX or Onimusha? Cause those things kick ass.

Better not be $49.99 again, ANET is cheating us making expansions like core game, just so it can be $49.99. If it is $49.99, it better not be like Factions, 95% of map for lvl 20. If it is, I'ma create some havoc in my house, and punch someone 55 times (probably be Best Buy salesperson). Ewww $49.99 is like ANET scamming US market, I hope the US NERFS ANET if it is $49.99. If its a core game and like prophecies, than I can understand, but if it sucky lil game like Factions. I'ma get pissed. Yes Factions is a lil game, cuz it has 13 missions, prophecies has like 27. Factions is 1/2 size of Prophecies, and basically a sequel, so it should really be an expansion, and I should have really paid $39.99. Like other expansion games, DYNASTY WARRIORS XTREME LEGENDS, and 1 other type of expansion I forget, I think TRIBUNAL AND BLOODMOON were $39.99, if I remember correctely, and it was well worth it, could have been worth $44.99.

You are forgetting that Anet offer servers for players. Their maintain is not free. Silly to compare prices to offline games or online games where community do hosting rather than game company.
